![]() ![]() Since I will be shooting Only Subsonic ammo in this Pistol with an Arm Brace, I do not need to have an extra short 6 inch barrel just to make supersonic ammo shoot subsonic. ![]() Everybody that has actually shot them, would you please chime in and tell us, can you actually hear the difference between subsonic 35 grain versus subsonic 45 grain versus subsonic 60 grain bullets Gonging Steel while using suppressors ? I have never personally heard the sound of that SSS 60 grain ammo hitting steel targets, but I had high hopes that it would sound louder than 35 grain ammo. ![]() I would still prefer to shoot as heavy lead as possible so what are All the other brands of 40 to 45 grain 22LR ammo Subsonic Only ammo manufactured ? I read too much negative news about that Aguila SSS 60 grain ammo so I am just going to use the regular subsonic 22LR ammo. What are the pros and cons of those different short barrel lengths for a suppressed gun that is only going to be shooting subsonic 22LR ammo ? 6 inches, 10 inches, 12 inches or 14 inches ? So with all of that above info, what barrel length should I buy for this short compact build. I could even get a 10 inch barrel with a permanently attached Shroud that makes it 16 inches but that would better on another regular rifle not this Arm Brace build. Those various manufacturers make fast twist 10/22 Charger barrels in the following lengths: 6 inches, 10 inches, 12 inches, and 14 inches. I would like to keep this build as short / compact as possible, but still keep the barrel long enough to get complete powder burn so it stays quiet. In alphabetical order they are : Beyer, Douglas, Green Mountain, Kidd, Lothar Walther, Tactical Innovations, and Volquartzen. I found the following manufacturers make 10/22 barrels with either a 1:8 twist, 1:9 twist, or a 1:12 twist and a threaded muzzle to shoot heavy Subsonic bullets with a suppressor : Since the barrel can be under 16 inches I am asking you guys what would be the optimum barrel length for a suppressed 22LR that will ONLY be shooting SUBsonic ammo ? I would like to buy that new Odin Chassis System from Enoch Industries that will allow me to have a Ruger 10/22 Charger Pistol with an Arm Brace so I do not have to register it as a Short Barreled Rifle. ![]()
